Reviews and Ratings
Since my first visit in 2010, I have had some reservations about the hotel and the rooms being located into the atrium and not outside. However, the rooms didn't smell of cigarettes and were pleasantly surprising with a lovely high ceiling, a very good bathroom, and a comfortable bed.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, though clean and comfortable, had a bit of a musty smell and faced issues with water drainage after showering. Despite the friendly staff, the noise and cigarette smoke from neighboring guests affected my sleep quality. The location was beautiful but felt a bit isolated at times.
I found the hotel to be well-equipped with everything I needed for my stay on Shamian Street boulevard with its charming gardens and pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. While the room was a bit chilly and had a locked door joining our rooms, the overall experience was pleasant.
The hotel is in a unique and charming location with an interesting look. The rooms, although well-equipped, lack noise insulation which might be challenging for light sleepers. The service was generally helpful but some staff had poor English skills.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms had a lovely high ceiling and a very good bathroom but were a bit tight. The comfortable bed made up for it. However, the rooms facing the trafficked road were not well insulated, resulting in quite a noisy environment even during the night.
The hotel rooms were a pleasant surprise, clean, well-equipped, and cozy, offering comfortable beds, although the bathroom took up a significant part of the room. The small carpet tacks were a downside but didn't overshadow the charm of the rooms. The service was attentive and accommodating, going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. The location on Shamian Island was peaceful and convenient, offering easy access to transportation and nearby attractions. The dining experience showcased a variety of choices but had some repetitive items. Overall, a great value for the amenities provided.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms, although clean, overlooked the inner covered court where breakfast is served, not offering a peaceful night's sleep due to the noisy road. The service was lacking in friendliness and efficiency, which was unexpected in China. The location was ideal, surrounded by amenities and attractions, but the dining experience fell short with cold food being packed up before the scheduled time. Despite some drawbacks, the facilities were satisfactory.
The hotel's location is excellent on Shamian Island, offering easy connections with the airport and railways. The rooms, although along an elevated highway with heavy traffic noise until late at night, suited my one-night business trip perfectly. The service staff were extremely helpful with my visa and passport issues, but it was a bit inconvenient that they waited until late afternoon to offer room cleaning. Overall, a delightful neighborhood with some smoking smell around.
The hotel offers clean and spacious rooms, though the water drainage in the bath can be tricky. The service was friendly overall, but there were some issues with communication. The location is excellent for exploring the island, but providing directions may be challenging. Dining options were average. The facilities are well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay with some minor inconveniences.
I found this hotel to be a great value for the money, with lovely large and comfortable rooms offering affordable luxury. The service was friendly, although a little more smiling wouldn't hurt. The location on Shamian Island was excellent, providing a peaceful retreat with easy access to transportation. The dining had room for improvement with limited choices and high prices. The facilities were good overall, but the rooms could be less humid due to gaps in the door.
